RECOVERY & ADVOCACY SERVICES

Building Confidence Through Community

At Connections Peer Support, recovery isn’t a path you walk alone. It’s a journey made stronger through community. Our Recovery & Advocacy programs are built by peers with lived experience who understand the ups and downs of mental health challenges. These services focus on creating safe, peer-led spaces where people can set goals, share stories, and build skills that empower recovery, confidence, and self-advocacy.

TURNING PERSONAL GOALS INTO SHARED SUCCESS

Members are encouraged to identify goals that feel meaningful to them, whether that’s building healthier routines, exploring creativity, or practicing self-care. Through peer support, encouragement, and shared accountability, we celebrate progress together. It’s about creating positive momentum that leads to lasting growth, confidence, and connection.

YOUR VOICE, YOUR POWER

Advocacy starts with finding your voice. Our Peer Advocacy groups give members the tools and confidence to speak up for themselves and others. Together, we learn how to navigate systems, communicate needs, and support one another in breaking down barriers to mental health care in New Hampshire.

SUPPORT FOR MENTAL HEALTH & SUBSTANCE USE TOGETHER

Recovery is complex, especially for people living with both mental health and substance use challenges. Our Dual Recovery group offers a safe, peer-led space to explore these experiences, share resources, and learn strategies for maintaining balance.

A SAFE SPACE FOR UNIQUE EXPERIENCES

The Hearing Voices Network group is a welcoming space for people who hear voices, see visions, or have other unique sensory experiences. Instead of judgment, members find acceptance, mutual learning, and connection. This group reminds us that every experience is valid and that community can lessen isolation.

RELATIONSHIPS AT THE HEART OF RECOVERY

Peer Support is the foundation of everything we do at Connections. Our weekly groups give members the opportunity to practice deep listening, mutual support, and connection. The focus is not on what’s “wrong” but on building stronger, more authentic relationships that foster growth and hope.

STARTING THE DAY IN COMMUNITY

Every morning at Connections begins with a peer-led check-in. Members gather to share thoughts, reflect on the day ahead, and connect with one another. This daily ritual sets a supportive tone, helping participants feel grounded, seen, and part of something larger.

THE POWER OF ADVOCACY IN RECOVERY

Recovery is about empowerment. By learning to advocate for ourselves and others, practicing recovery skills, and connecting through shared experience, members build confidence and hope. These programs remind us that healing is possible when we walk side by side, lifting one another up.

Members have access to all these programs and more for free.
